wonderful wedding wednesday ~ a ring shell for shell

IMG_6569Some of my very favorite weddings I’ve shot have never seen the light of  day this blog.  The main reason this happens is that I have a really hard time narrowing down images to post here, especially from amazing weddings!  For example, as I was going through a recent wedding I photographed, I was getting overwhelmed trying to choose favorites so I decided to just pick favorite detail shots to post, and I picked fifty.  Fifty.  Detail.  Shots.  That’s dumb.  I’m dumb.

I always struggle with posting too many or not enough, so I decided to start this weekly wedding post on Wednesdays.  This way, I can post just a few or a lot, from one wedding or from several, or whatever my heart desires, all under the topic of wonderful weddings!  I know this isn’t a new idea, and I’m sure there are like seven thousand blogs out there that do Wedding Wednesday posts, but I’m just gonna go for it anyway.  I have way too many cool wedding photos languishing on hard drives.  I promise I’ll keep it interesting and inspirational!  After all, it would be a shame if I didn’t share my awesome clients’ hard work and planning. :)

The pix I’m sharing today are from the most recent wedding I shot, not even two weeks ago.  In fact, I haven’t even finished editing through all of their images.  Wes & Shell got married at Shell’s brother’s lake house, and it was a perfect, intimate, laid back wedding.  A few hours before the ceremony, Shell was mentioning that they were trying to think of something cool to use for Wes’s son to carry the ring in…I spotted this shell on a counter in the kitchen of the lake house, and had a light bulb moment: a shell!  So perfect, because it represents the lake and the bride’s name was Shell!  I suggested it and Shell loved the idea.  Yay!  I love spontaneous things that turn out to be just the right thing. :)IMG_6575Here’s to thinking outside the {ring}box.  ha ;)
