throwback thursday ~ a charming fall wedding with a touch of glam

I’m back with another Throwback Thursday wedding inspiration post.  This one is a lovely fall wedding that I photographed a couple of years ago.  The bride, my sweet friend Jade, is a girl with a great sense of style.  You can’t tell in this pic so much, but her wedding dress had a high-low hemline…two years ago.  Just call her a trendsetter. {You can check out more of that fab dress and Jade’s gorgeousness in this Bridal Portrait post.}

This photo reminds me how much I am dying to do some DIY glittery heels.  I need to get on that already! In addition to the sparkly shoes, Jade used touches of metallic shine throughout her wedding decor, which brought in the glam factor for this fall wedding.  I adore these painted gold branches. Simple wedding programs were made special with glittery ribbon.  So sweet and so easy to do it yourself.This ceremony arch was kind of amazing.  It was covered in vines and greenery, draped with beads and flowers, and backed with fabric.  Perfect!

It also made a lush backdrop for some portraits of Jade and her groom Vincent.  Aren’t they a stunning couple??

Framed photos, candles, and pumpkins were used to decorate the reception tables.  Strips of tulle and strings of beads dressed it up.  On top of that, some of the pumpkins were painted to add even more style.

I love, love, love everything about Jade’s cake table!  I feel like it was such a perfect mix: the traditional white wedding cake {so pretty!}, plus the untradtional use of pumpkin pies instead of a groom’s cake.  Also, as a photographer, I loved the charming backdrop they provided with the scrolly screen and twinkle lights.  {Brides, do your wedding photographer a favor and  think about these things. ;)}

This little vignette of one natural orange pumpkin, one gold painted pumpkin, and one matte white painted pumpkin, plus potted fall flowers – I have no words for how perfect this is!  The mix of textures and vibrant colors equals major. Another easy, fun idea for any wedding reception is the DIY ice cream sundae station.  Of course, Jade made this look extra cute too, by using cool orange metal buckets to hold the individual ice cream containers.

The DIY wedding favors were these dressed up paper bags, which guests could fill with candy to take home. It’s amazing how paint, glitter, and twinkle lights can transform basic things onto something special.

Plus, check this out: twinkle lights reflected on the dance floor make a perfect backdrop for this tiny dancer! :)

Hope you’ve enjoyed looking back at this charming fall wedding with a touch of glam.  I feel like most of these ideas are Pinterest-worthy – which also shows what a trendsetter Jade is, considering this all happened before Pinterest was The Thing for brides planning their weddings.  :)
