I routinely post outfit photos on my Instagram, so for the Playoffs this year, I had fun documenting most of my game outfits there as well. I thought I’d share them here, too, and chat just a bit about them. I promise this will be less wordy than the makeup post yesterday. Whew.
Okay, let’s start with the first pic up above. Those heels were a gift to me from my sis Mandi and my nephews. I love the yellow platform and orange heel – Thunder colors, holla! :) I decided these would be my Round 1 heels. The jeans are Lucky brand, found at Marshall’s. I don’t remember exactly how much I paid for them, but the cost-per-wear value I’ve gotten out of them is great. I’ve only had them a couple of months and have worn the heck out of them already! The tank top and jacket were Goodwill finds. The headpiece was a thrifted necklace I bobby pinned into my hair.
The next outfit was entirely thrifted, except for the Thunder shirt and the heels. This button down shirt is J.Crew, via a thrift store in Texas, thankyouverymuch.Sam Presti is the Thunder’s GM, and I might be his biggest fan. I just love Sammy P! Sigh. Anyway. This shirt is from the awesome local tshirt company known as Tree and Leaf. Love them. The skirt was thrifted. The bag was a great find at the Wilson Leather outlet store last year.Thrifted button down top. Fake leather skirt I got a long time ago at Ross, clearanced for five dollars. Oklahoma necklace from DNA Galleries. Buy local, folks. Except buy from Target sometimes, too. That’s where I found this Thunder shirt a few years ago. :)Game 6 was on an unseasonably chilly evening, and we watched it outdoors on the patio of a local restaurant. So I came warm, with a thrifted knit beaded hat. Other than that, none of this outfit was thrifted, ha. This Thunder shirt is the first Thunder shirt I ever owned, bought for me by my sis Amber as soon as she realized I had actually become a real fan of a sports team. :) I found these Nikes at Ross a few years ago. These DKNY skinny cropped jeans came from Marshall’s. The jacket was from Kohl’s several years ago. I’m nothing if not consistent in my cheap shopping ways. :)This shirt is another DNA Galleries purchase. The necklace was hand carved by this awesome guy Mike Hintze. Check out his Facebook woodworking page here. The skirt was thrifted and the shoes were a gift from my friend Cassie. This is another nice button down top I found at a thrift store. The shorts were pants I thrifted and cut and cuffed into shorts. :) Clearly, these were my Round 2 heels. This sweater is another thrift store find that I chopped up a little – the better to wear over a sequin tank top, duh! I don’t even remember where I found these white skinny capris, but I think it was Ross or Target. So there ya go. Fashion lover and sports fan collide. Now I’ll leave you with a little true life story:
Sometimes, you buy a simply ridiculous pair of heels to wear for the Finals, because you know your team is gonna go all the way. Then your All Star point guard gets injured in Round 1, and your team doesn’t even survive Round 2. Sad day. Good thing I don’t really need an excuse or reason the wear those dang shoes anyway. Just wait until you guys see them!
