Oh, this wedding was a good one! Andrew and Lindsey got married two weeks ago, and while I am working feverishly to get allllll their wedding photos edited and delivered to them, I wanted to post a sneak peek. I know a lot of people are excited to see pix of this gorgeous day! So, enjoy! :)All of the details were so pretty. The creamy flowers and soft greenery of Lindsey’s bouquet were simply perfection. That hair though! So lovely, so perfect for a bride!Lindsey and Andrew planned their day extremely well. Everything went very smoothly and they gave me plenty of time for portraits – and the light was beautiful that day! So, there are plenty more sweet portraits where these came from, but here are a few of my favorites for now..Lindsey & Andrew~
Seriously, you guys are the best! Your wedding was beautiful, sweet, and fun, just like the two of you. It truly was a joy and honor to be part of your special day. Love you guys!!
Today is a cold, dreary day in Oklahoma, so posting these images from a beautiful, sunny morning in Iowa a few months ago is warming me up a little right now. This is my cousin Caleb. Isn’t he so handsome?? And he is a really great guy, too. I’m so proud of him and excited to see what he will do with his life after high school. Not too many people want to get up at the crack of dawn for an early morning session, but Caleb was early and waiting for me to arrive before 7am on the day of our session! And would you just look at this gorgeous morning light? Totally worth an early start, in my opinion! My aunt Lisa, Caleb’s mom, suggested this first location, and man was it perfect! From there, we headed to a place Caleb is very familiar with and comfortable at: his high school track. The rest of the photos were taken at my grandparents’ farm near Blakesburg, Iowa. This is one of my very favorite places to photograph people! There are too many good spots all around out there.Caleb~
Thanks for being a wonderful “model” for me! I loved hanging out with you for your senior portrait session. You are awesome!
This gorgeous girl is Hannah. I’ve done pictures for Hannah’s cousin Melissa, who is one of my dear friends. So when it came time for Hannah to book her senior portraits, she contacted me. And I am so glad she did, because photographing this girl was a dream! I mean, look how pretty she is! And she definitely brought it with the outfits, too.Because of our crazy schedules, I had to do Hannah’s session at one in the afternoon. If you’ve ever booked a photo shoot with me, you know I usually completely avoid shooting at midday. But it had to work for this one, so I prayed for good cloud coverage and God came through for us with a perfectly overcast day! When the sun did peek out, we were able to find shady spots around the buildings in downtown Tulsa.Since I am usually photographing people in and around Oklahoma City, it was really fun for me to find some new-to-me places in Tulsa.Hannah has already ordered prints of several of her images, and I loved seeing how they turned out! Since people hardly get prints these days, it’s very cool whenever I get to order and see my work in print form. I love digital photos and social media sharing as much as anyone, but there’s something about a photographic print that always makes my heart happy.
I had such a wonderful time hanging out with you and your adorable grandparents for your session! You guys are some good people. :) I love how your photos turned out! Thank you for choosing me to do your senior pix. :)
I love mixing prints any time of the year, but I think the colors in this outfit are perfect for these days when it still feels like summer but it’s definitely fall. This is another thrifted outfit, styled by me and modeled by Grace. It’s a great example of a cute, easy outfit for school or the office. The simple striped tank is made more polished by adding the floral skirt and low heels, and the bag is big enough to hold some school books or whatever you might need for your work day. A front or side tuck makes it look like you put in that little bit of extra effort. :)If you hadn’t noticed during fashion month, from street style photos to the runway shows, thick/chunky heels are back in a big way, as are lower heels. These ones are vintage, but they tick all the right boxes to give your fall look a fresh update. This is also a good lesson in mixing prints. The tiny stripes on the tank top act almost as a solid and pair nicely with the larger scale floral on the skirt. I think it also helps that the floral pattern is more scattered, so your eye has a break from all the prints happening at once.
Happy Tuesday, friends!
